Buying a home in Richmond Hill, Toronto, Canada is buying a home in the “Rose Capital of the World”. Richmond Hill is part of the Greater Toronto area, located halfway between Toronto and Lake Simcoe. Richmond Hill is one for the fastest growing areas of Toronto home market, with exponential growth over the last few years.

Situated to the North of Toronto, it is well located for access into the city for work or leisure. Richmond Hill is known for its high tech manufacturing and research establishments. Lexmark and Compaq are headquartered in Richmond Hill providing excellent work opportunities for the well educated within the area.

Transportation is a little shallow in Richmond, their being no subway no rail links. The bus system does have a rapid transit facility that provides for traffic lights to be changed in favour of the buses. The area is well serviced by the Highways 401, 407 and 7. Yonge Street runs through the metropolis and is one of the featured places to live.

Building wise, Richmond is more low rise although it is one of the hillier areas of Toronto. Richmond Hill has every type of home for sale, from a small bachelor condo to a multi million dollar single family dwelling. The average sale prices for homes in Richmond Hill, (July 2010), are $510,743 (N03), $534,895 (N04) and $523,560 (N05). Home prices generally decrease as you move further north, away from Toronto.

The area is well served with restaurants, theatres, golf courses and sports activities. Families will find parks, trails, great schools, community centres and libraries. Living in Richmond Hill is living in a friendly down to earth community and is ideal for family life and those that want to live at a slower pace than in central Toronto.
